The one thing NaNo really taught me was to just get a draft done. It is far easier to go back and "fix" a story from a first draft than to not have finished due to trying to get it right the first time through. Keep working on it, I have no doubt you'll get it where you want :) Hopefully I'll have some small fiction and photo pieces to showcase soon so people see the types of posts they'll be and can answer better too.
