Mathrengyl Bearwalker, an imposingly quiet Druid whose name was known among all Kaldorei for his guidance and demanding training methods, stood calmly against the wall of the second floor of the Cenarion Enclave as Byaghro approaches.
“Welcome Byaghro. I have been watching your progress with much delight, and am impressed with the growth you have shown thus far. It is time for you to begin your journey as an initiate of the Cenarion Circle, provided you complete the task I have prepared for you. While we have grown to become Druids of the Wild, no longer clinging solely to a single totem, you will begin upon the path of the Druids of the Claw. You will travel to the Moonglade and speak with Dendrite Starblaze, who will oversee your training while you reside there.”
“I have heard of the Moonglade, of course, but I know not where it is located,” responds Byaghro, “What path am I to take?”
Mathrengyl smiles warmly, “Fear not young one, as an initiate of the Cenarion Circle you are welcome within the sacred lands of the Moonglade at any time, whether you seek knowledge or solace. Only Druids are granted the ability to come and go as they wish, however, and nature herself provides us with the ability to teleport to the glade while keeping others from finding a way to do so. Come, it is time for me to teach you the necessary spell so that you may continue your training.”
Byaghro stands still, regaining her bearings and focusing on the building in front of her in an attempt to quell the waves of disorienting dizziness that have been known to cause even seasoned travelers to lose their lunch after a teleportation spell.
‘I certainly hope it does not feel like this every time…’
Byaghro kneels on the ground, catching her breath. After a few moments the dizziness fades, and with a sigh Byaghro casts a rejuvenating spell upon herself. As she begins to feel the warmth of the spell flow through her body, refreshing her body, Byaghro rises and walks toward Dendrite Starblaze.
“Mathrengyl has tasked me with overseeing your beginnings upon the path of the Claw. I will guide you in what steps to take, but it is you who must prepare yourself and embrace that which is revealed to you. We have seen many aspiring Druids fail the task set before you. This task will test not only your physical capabilities, but the strength of your resolve and commitment to the path of Cenarius. When you are ready to begin the trial return to me, but first you should prepare yourself for the journey ahead.”
“I respect your guidance, but I am ready to begin now if you will let me,” responds Byaghro, bowing before Dendrite as a sign of assurance that she means no disrespect.
“Mathrengyl expected such a response,” Dendrite replies warmly, “Very well. It is time for you to seek out the Great Bear Spirit, a wise and noble creature. When the Great Bear feels you are ready he will send you back to me. Until then heed his teachings well, for without his approval and your wholehearted embracing of Nature’s gifts you will not be able to move on to the next phase of your task.” Dendrite bows, and adds one last sentiment, “You have proven yourself capable in the realm of the physical, Byaghro. Now is the time to prove yourself capable in Nature’s spiritual domain.”
Nodding, Byaghro turns to begin her trek to see the Great Bear. She stops in Nighthaven for a few basic supplies along the way. With a small pack prepared and her stave in hand, Byaghro walks northwest out of the town and into the forests of the Moonglade.
Disclaimer: While the events in this series will be based upon the World of Warcraft universe in general, this is purely fiction and will certainly have a number of liberties taken that would not make sense if attempting to draw correlations to the actual in-game lore and events. This will also be an attempt to complete one RP series from start to finish instead of leaving a number of random, open series left unfinished. Also worth noting is that I am going back to the beginning, when Byaghro was created, and moving forward through “vanilla” WoW, through the Burning Crusade, and on into Wrath to tell her entire story. Many details are vague in my memory at this point, and as a result I will be taking even more liberties with older content in bringing this story to fruition.
