I don't really know if it's a matter of function or aesthetically pleasing, I just like it. (My home page will continue to be out of control til I get in a better habit to use the "click for more" tag!) And I like the featured content at the top. I’m just trying to figure out how well I can adapt this layout to make it more like what people miss about the other, or if the other was just better in general.
